Your website may not show up in the search engine for a few different reasons. Some of them are easy to fix and some are more difficult if you’re not great with the code of a website.
Submitting to Search Engines
Once you built your website you’ll need to submit it to each search engine. If you’re using a site builder then sometimes there’s a spot that says “submit to search engines” and it will submit to all of them for you. If you’ve built the website on your own and need to manually do it then all you have to do is go to the search engine and type in “Submit my site to Google”, “Submit my site to MSN” and so on.
Each time you do it there will be a link that comes up first that will give you about 2 steps to submitting it to their search engine.
Already Submitted and still not showing up
If this is the case then the problem is more complicated. You’ll have to make sure your SEO (search engine optimization) is organized and that your content matches what you’re asking to show up for.
When you’re building your website and you create new pages you’ll be asked to name each one and they’ll be in a list on one side of your site builder. Those page titles are basically what you’re asking Google to show up for in their search engine. Google will look at your site and decide if you’re worthy of that phrase over other webites.
So make sure that you have at lest 4-5 word page titles with at least 5-10 pages in a folder of that page. Example:
www.creatingvisits.com/nh-based-seo-services.html (Page 1 – 4 words)
www.creatingvisits.com/nh-based-seo-services/creating-website-visits.html (10 pages off of the first page)
If I had named it “Page 1″ and “Page 2″ instead of the keywords similar to my website then I wouldn’t show up for the phrases that I want. The only way to get to the 3rd page is through the second page just like if you put a folder on your desk top inside another folder. The only way to access it is to go in the first folder and click on the second folder.
By creating 10 pages inside the first folder you have more content about that subject with more page titles and paragraphs of keyword rich content. You want to add at least 400-500 words of content on each page. If you’re selling a product then make sure the product pictures are at the top and the content is at the bottom. Visitors probably won’t read much of the content but it’s their for the search engines to pick it up.
Big Keywords Are Difficult
This website is about buidling a website and ranking in the search engines but it was only started about 6-8 months ago. If I was an amature I’d probably start pushing a phrase like “web design” but I’m not and I know that’s a nearly impossible phrase to rank for. I’m going after my state abbreviation first: “NH web design” and “nh seo services” because I live in NH and people might type that in.
They won’t type it in as often but once you get visits to your website Google can start looking at statistics like whether 10 visitors got off in 10 seconds, or 10 visitors got on, viewed 4 pages each and stayed for 10 minutes. That shows a much higher quality website and they will rank your site higher for other keywords as well. Google only wants the best sites at the top because they claim they pick the best sites which makes people use Google more than any other search engine.
Type the exact website address into the search engine to see if you come up first. If you do then at least you know search engines are picking up your site and you need to work harder on adding pages and content. If it doesn’t show up then you probably aren’t submitted into it yet.
Not Just Web Design, Guaranteed Visitors
There are a few steps to building a website and getting visits after you’ve built it. Some people have seen the commercials for a company that will build you a website and promise you all this Ad revenue to make it look attractive. Well, people are wondering how to do it.
I’m going to give you a step by step tutorial showing how to get a webiste, how to pick a domain, how to build the website or get a template and much more. Then I’ll show you how to put Ads on it and ways to promote it and gain traffic to it. You won’t make any money without having visitors on the site. The reason companies like Dunkin Donuts wanted an Ad on someone’s website in the first place was because there were already a lot of visitors on the website that will see the Dunkin’s name.
I’m going to offer each step one by one and show you how to do it. Then offer a price if you can’t figure it out or don’t have the time to do it yourself. The good thing is that everything is fully explained so you don’t think you’re throwing your money away on “background code work” which could mean “sitting on my butt doing nothing”.
I’m sure a lot of people will end up building a great website following the steps and I’m sure a lot of people will pay me to help them with a few along the way. It’s mostly to show you what I’ll be able to do for you and help you if you need it.
Some tips to start
Picking out the right domain name before building your website. Google has been weighing A LOT on the name of you website as a search relevence. Meaning, if you typed in “Creating Visits” my website will show up first. Same if you typed in “mortgage calculator” or “hook up wire” you’ll probably find a “.com” or “.org” right at the top. This means you should pick a main keyword or phase of your website and make sure you get a good keyword to show up at the top right away.
Remember that I said you need visitors before you’ll get money from Ads so showing up for a good keyword early will help you get a small amount of visitors right away. If it’s a highly used keyword you’ll get all of the variations of the word later such as “creating website visits”, “creating traffic to your website” and much more. Those ones will add up to a lot more traffic but it all starts from the beginning with the domain name.
Take a look at the Step by Step process here and hopefully your website will be up and running soon!

Creating Visits is a new company offering web design services and SEO services to its customers. As the owner of Creating Visits I’ve created a lot of websites that get very good traffic and good Page Rank with Google. That pushed me to start doing it for other people and give out information about SEO that I know so that other people can push their own website.
Building a website can be tough because there’s so much to know. You should start out by getting a hosting service like Yahoo or Godaddy so that they provide you with website building tools. This will help you build your website with programs similar to clip art and powerpoint rather than with code.
As you start to gain knowledge you might be able to learn some code on your own which will definitely help later on. Once you have a website you should immediately start a blog as I’m doing here so that you can add a lot of content.
Adding content is the best thing to do to any website because Google picks up on the content more than anything else. DO NOT spam by writing a quick post, saying “web design” 20 times and calling it a day. The reason is that someone will find your site in the search engine, click on it and then click right off as well. Google can notice if 90% of people get off your website in 3 seconds so write quality content as I am here in this blog.
Then link the keywords in your blog to the page on your website with the similar content. So if I am talking about web design I’ll link that to the design page on my website which directs people to the area they want to be. It also tells Google what you think the most important page is on your website.
SEO services are much different than web design and designers probably won’t even title your pages for you for some reason. It’s a different cost and different service to be provided by someone who knows about Google and why they pick the top 10 websites as they do.
Once you know how Google chooses the top websites you can build your’s accordingly. That means you need to add titles, descriptions, meta tags, a blog and a lot of content that people like to read. It will make you much more popular and people will keep coming back to your website. Google will also keep sending people to your site via the search engine.
That’s just the beginning. I’m going to be discussing a variety of things about web design, seo services and tips for blogging and getting your website to the top of search engines.
